THE SECOND VERSE Audio on Soundcloud
In the early days of picking up a guitar to play, I learned two chords. Upon mastery of those two chords I was inspired to strum a variety of rhythmic patterns between the two and suddenly like a flood, melody began to spring from my heart. With time spent, music theory and many more chords and instruments were learned and it was off to the races writing songs, placing words in accompaniment to those melodies.
Five years after embracing the guitar, I went to songwriting school to gain a deeper understanding of the art of pulling it all together. The teacher of my lyric writing class said the art of writing a good lyric comes in this way, take the melody you hear and seek to find words that can be emotionally bonded to it and in doing so, tell ‘em, tell ‘em what you told ‘em and then tell ‘em again.
This form of telling, telling what you told and telling again has but one point of focus, THE CHORUS. That memorable set of words and melody, they referred to as “The Hook”, that get hidden in the heart of people and can be whistled as they wait or walk or work.
With God as my inspiration and director of the rhythm, melody and words of the path He has had me on over the course of these two years, I am now being led to embark on writing, a second verse. To use songwriting school as an example, I have told you what He has told me. Now I am inspired to tell you again. Because by design, we learn, understand and become familiar with everything, even God, through time spent in the waters of His revelation to us.
This melody He entrenched in my heart that began in a gush came fully supplied with words, but because the words and melody were both so fresh and so new, they were not immediately understood, though they were quickly embraced.
With the voice of His intercession leading, He petitioned me to seek Him out for the understanding, pressing in on my soul and rehearsing my heart in these extraordinary new words and incontrovertible melody that was attached to them, haunting and smooth.
This inspiration and earnest begging in His words sparked the writing of eight separate communications. You could say they were the first verse and in them the chorus has actually been heard multiple times as well. I’ve been led to name this first verse and chorus, “THE JOURNEY”. They comprise the life changing framework of understanding that has been brought to me by God through His Spirit. Hopefully you have listened to all of them or dare it be said, you sat and read all 27,368 words that make up their composition. Whew!?
Either way, to “know the song” familiarity with the rhythm, melody and words of the first verse is beneficial, with a heavy leaning towards critical, as this second verse is embarked upon. So like a very familiar songwriting team from decades past, just so it’s very clear from the opening downbeat what this song is about and what this second verse will be driving towards, the chorus is, I Live Off Of His Intercession In Repentance. That’s how the song starts.
* We hate the word repentance as it pertains to us, but only because we are in ignorance and unbelief of the beauty found in it’s true meaning.
* Because we misunderstand and subsequently hate the word, we often miss out on What He Is Doing Right Now.
* And because What He Is Doing Right Now isn’t met in repentance we miss out on What He Is Doing Right Now, too.
* What He Is Doing Right Now, is presenting Himself unsought. Discharging the javelin of His purpose in the words of His intercession, seeking to hit the mark of those He desires to draw near to Him. Incumbency falls on us to hold the target still and listen. ”The yoke that is easy”.
* The natural assimilation in missing What He Is Doing Right Now is the accumulation of the self centered contrarian sludge of condemnation, unforgivenness and judgement in our hearts toward Him and others. These three are in direct opposition to What He Is Doing Right Now. C.U.J. (k-oŏ-əj) in God’s Gap, as it was revealed to me. Without listening for and allowing the flush of the living water of His word in our hearts, we will fall back on this fruit born of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and won’t be able to follow What He Is Doing Right Now.
* The Father desires to draw us into and animate His interrogative relationship through the Holy Spirit. In failure to acknowledge and embrace the Voice, He who takes up our case and presents Himself unsought, discussion of What He Is Doing Right Now becomes impossible. I think it breaks His heart.
* And because of His great love for the freedom He dwells in, we are all granted complete freedom to sit in the front row of What He Is Doing Right Now and miss every spontaneous movement and subtle line spoken.
* The saddest part of it is that the serpent inspired consumption and residue of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, under a crushing interest rate, loans us self-assurance that, “we know” What He Is Doing Right Now because we’ve read and studied the playbill. And in that “knowledge” we are led to assure everybody else that not only do we have a front row seat at this performance, we know how the show goes. Not accounting for the fact that sovereign improvisation is the fundamental element to this concerto the Father has orchestrated.
“Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.” John 3:5-8
Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it. Mark 10:15
For the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say.” Luke 12:12
At the root, “THE JOURNEY” is His question, “What Am I Doing Right Now?” A captivating rhythmic cadence and unforgettable melody; Yet, in His question, His tone and ardent insinuation was clear, “You don’t “know” the answer to this question, so I implore you to seek me for it”. I responded in kind.
The question revealed His desire for me to seek Him out, to petition and thirst for the understanding of those words that He is, and has always been speaking over creation and man in particular. His purpose was to open the eyes of my understanding, to birth change in my heart of what His intercession is and what repentance is, and is not. But in that breath, He didn’t just expose or rearrange the definition of a couple words. That question and the words of understanding He has poured into my spirit fundamentally changed everything I had ever thought, been taught or understood about God and His relationship to humanity.
These two, intercession and repentance are inextricably wedded words. They are a complete circuit, electricity to bulb like a spiritual neural pathway that is and always has been directly connected from God to humanity. This is the likeness of His image we were all formed in and through it He reveals Himself and the words of truth to follow with, after and behind. His voice is constant and waiting at the switch. If one has an ear to hear this intercession, this petitioning, this pleading, repentance is the flick of the switch to light the dim bulb.
It is His intercession that births the revelation of understanding to the soul, we can not and do not figure out this melody or the words on our own. He petitions us and repentance completes the circuit and brings us to the crux of understanding of Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. It is His intercession, every word that proceeds from the mouth of God that draws us to the unity He dwells in through repentance. Ponder stops regularly ensuing for the trailing child.
So in writing a second verse the directive of His Spirit is clear, reestablish the chorus. Tell ‘em what I told you. So… here’s the hook of the song again…
I live off of His intercession in repentance.
Life is in every word that proceeds from the mouth of God delivered by the Holy Spirit to the door at God’s Gap in the heart. Deut. 8:3 Matt 4:4. He is seeking one who will hear and follow with, after and behind the leading of His voice. The voice of the living God who is speaking, interceding, begging and pleading we pay attention with expectation for “What He Is Doing Right Now”. Jesus who is forever living to make intercession, the Spirit Himself interceding “for us” with groanings too deep for words. It is for the love of His unity that He speaks and bids all to come and enter in with Him, for He is not counting our sins against us.
The biblical answer to His question, “What Am I Doing Right Now?” was and is, You are interceding. But harkening back to His ardent insinuation that I didn’t “know” the answer to this question, the deeper truth is, this question resonates with an eternal prompt for humanity, to enthusiastically listen for and seek Him for the understanding in this living and active word, this intercession emanating from Him. The treasure is not to know He is interceding, the treasure is to seek Him out for the mystery of the words being spoken. If you can hear it, the question is seeking to expose and draw us into the deep mystery of His bond to us. The design and intent of this rhythm and melody is to lead His children to the realization that this word is Life and the cornerstone of communion They share, Father, Son and Spirit.
This is IMMENSE! And it towers over what the current Western paradigm of belief acknowledges or extols as fellowship and Godliness.
He is seeking the birth of recurring anticipatory awareness of His intercession, the will of the Father being spoken and listened for. The unsought presentation of Himself for the express purpose of conversation and consultation, the earnest pleading and appeal that ignites a heart to follow. These words and groanings are continuously in genesis and to be listened for, like a child.
John 8:28 “When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am he and that I do nothing on my own but speak just what the Father has taught me.
John 14:30-31 I will not say much more to you, for the prince of this world is coming. He has no hold over me, but he comes so that the world may learn that I love the Father and do exactly what my Father has commanded me.
He upholds all things by the word of His power. This same word cuts to the dividing of our soul and spirit, the joints and the marrow discerning the thoughts and intents of the heart as described in Hebrews 4:12. The question is, “What Am I Doing Right Now”? Are you listening for these words, in repentance? These words He speaks are the circumcision of Christ for him who has an ear to hear what the Spirit is saying putting no confidence in the flesh. Phil 3:3
The supplication, the begging, the pleading in His melody and words are the instigation to revelation, the leading in freedom from the bondage to carnality and this dying world. Our glimpses of the truth, belief, faith and understanding are born of these words spoken to us, the dust of the ground that He breathed life into at creation.
These words spoken through the Holy Spirit are the motivation, power, strength and authority to do the will of God for His glory. They are the keys to the kingdom. They are life and apart from them we can do nothing. It is the mercy of God that brings His Spirit to the door of our hearts, unsought, waiting for a thirsty soul to invite Him in so the floodgates of His love and power can conform us to the image of Christ.
Placing a pause right here, a little ponder stop. Does an ear to hear what the eye can not see, perceive the overtones of consistent, persistent love and desire emanating from God for humanity to enjoin with the leading of His voice through Christ by His Spirit?
And has it not always been so?
Can you hear the sympathetic resonance, the smooth rhythmic flow of His continual drawing, that was initiated and has persisted since the garden? Can you hum or whistle, His eternal melodic desire for unity to be entered into with Him? A longing to produce awareness in His children that in these overtones of the Triune God there is no condemnation, unforgivenness, or judgement falling on anyone right now?
The Father knows man in and of himself can’t “find” God, can’t “know” his way into God. So the melody of the soul of God is faithful to call, petition and beg for us to listen, so we can come, with, after or behind Him. Do your ears burn with consideration and heeding for the dulcet tones of His mercy and grace that bid us come and enter into the flow of His living water, that cleanses, heals and brings revelation as He speaks? The only thing required of mankind is a heart that will listen as if to hear and follow what is spoken, like a child. To seek, ask and knock for the understanding of what Jesus is already saying right now through the Holy Spirit is the light to our path “The yoke that is easy”.
The Spirit and the bride say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say , “Come.” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wishes take the water of life without cost. Rev. 22:17
Taking the first words Jesus spoke in His service to the captives, “Repent for the Kingdom of God is at hand”, right out of the shoot, many hear guilt, blame or shame and are thrown off of God’s passionate desire for us to come to Him, following His voice. Repentance has become the most hated word due to the enemy of our souls, the father of lies, who from the garden of Eden has sought to divide us from the the eternal love in the voice of the heavenly Father and instigated the consumption of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. TOTKOGAE
As a little side note here, much like the acronym C.U.J. that the Lord gave me to denote Condemnation, Unforgiveness and Judgement. TOTKOGAE is an acronym He has given me to describe, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and everything associated with it, C.U.J. and it’s death in the day we eat of it, included.
Moving on, based on the centuries long conditioning and misdirected interpretation of the word repentance, I wouldn’t doubt the first image in your mind when you hear the words “Repent for the kingdom of God is at hand” are of some angry dude on a corner, swingin’ the book around and calling you a sinner headed for hell fire! Do I exaggerate?
Make no bones about it there is a real hell and an everlasting lake of fire that have been prepared for the devil and his angels, but this “bookslinger” is a perfect example of someone who has read the notes on the page, but has not understood the composers inspiration, mood and dynamics of how the notes should be played and what He is seeking to communicate through them. These places were not created for humanity, they were created for the devil and His angels, but sadly, in the failure to listen for and enjoin with the melody and words of the savior of the world, the voice of the shepherd, many will take up eternal residence there.
So, even with the noted dreaded outcome for those who will not go with, after and behind the Word of life, clearly the melodic cadence of the good news score of God and His Christ have been fumbled here. For in eating the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (TOTKOGAE) the spirit ruled by this fruit causes us to miss the dynamics and mood salted throughout the pages of His Symphony. Without the cleansing flow of His Holy Spirit from the tree of life, the fruit of that “other tree” leads us in self righteousness, misrepresenting the Father as vindictive, desiring revenge in anger because we’re sinners.
Ad libitum; con dolce amore y appassionato; prima voce.
The one with an ear to hear the mood and melodic dynamics of His symphonic masterpiece would understand, “this passage is to be performed freely, with sweet love and passion for the FIRST Voice”. They are the essence of the Holy Spirit inspired melodic proclamation in the heart of the composer who said, “Repent for the Kingdom of God is at hand”. But not surprisingly, due to our consumption of TOTKOGAE, that grungy tone blasted from a corner, resides in the subtle recesses of our heart and reinforces the deafness to the first verse and chorus of this song.
Those dark atonal reverberations of the “bookslinger” are born of the self-righteous sludge of C.U.J. (k-oŏ-əj) in God’s Gap and they are in direct opposition to what Jesus said here in MATT 12:30-37. He who is not with Me is against Me; and he who does not gather with Me scatters. “Therefore I say to you, any sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven people, but blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven. Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come. “Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for the tree is known by its fruit. You brood of vipers, how can you, being evil, speak what is good? For the mouth speaks out of that which fills the heart. The good man brings out of his good treasure what is good; and the evil man brings out of his evil treasure what is evil. But I tell you that every careless word that people speak, they shall give an accounting for it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”
There is an evil treasure stoked in us through the consistent consumption of TOTKOGAE, it’s fruit is condemnation, unforgiveness and judgment, C.U.J. This fruit, this malevolent meal, creates and fosters our appetite to make ourselves appear high minded, above, separate from the rest. It looks like self-righteousness as it seeks to put others in their place of error, as we portray ourselves as the ones who are “In On The Inside”. It smells like arrogant pride and smears guilt and shame on a passerby for their perceived substandard life or actions. The fruit of this tree stands in direct opposition to the Father’s will in Christ, scattering souls while Christ through the persistent intercession of His Spirit seeks to draw us all, not counting our sins against us. This TOTKOGAE fruit being the treasure of our hearts will cause us to be misguided minstrels. Harmonizing with the viperous fruit of the wrong tree, being out of tune with the orchestration of His gathering.
The TOTKOGAE and it’s fruit of death, the C.U.J. (k-oŏ-əj) in God’s Gap stands in direct opposition to Jesus and what He is doing right now through the Holy Spirit, reconciling the world to the Father, not counting our sins against us. This is where the haunting smooth melody and the words of His question, “What Am I Doing Right Now?” arrested me in assurance that I did not understand these words or the basis for their melodic inspiration. His assurance was I did not have the answer to the question, but along with that recognition was confirmation of an abiding willingness to impart the understanding.
The gathering of Christ is through His petitioning Spirit, through the leading words of the moment that bid all to come with, after and behind to ponder, consider, heed and understand with our minds, the Father in Christ reconciling the world to Himself not counting men’s sins against them. 2 Cor 5:19 Ahhhh!? Another place to insert the hook of the song, “I live off of His intercession in repentance”.
The Father’s desire is to create and reinforce hunger in His people, a realization they do not possess God in knowledge of the scriptures.
The arrogance of one standing over, speaking down with haughty guilt or shame, the hubris of thinking we possess the truth and are righteous, the injudicious wielding of knowledge as the benchmark of Christ in our lives or the outright evil of desiring someone suffer or be punished for their perceived failure is the scattering Jesus warned against.
He who is not with Me is against Me; and he who does not gather with Me scatters. For the day of the Lord draws near on all the nations. As you have done, it will be done to you. Your dealings will return on your own head. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.” Matt. 12:30; Ob 1:15; Matt. 12:37.
This insiders club affront to the gift of freedom in Christ to the captives is like the sound of a blunt square wave (sound clip) masking the voice of the Holy Spirit at the door to God’s Gap in the heart. Ugh? … masking the voice of the Holy Spirit at the door to God’s Gap in the heart, proclaiming liberty to the captives, recovery of sight to the blind, desiring the oppressed be set free, to seek and save that which is lost. A gathering, not a scattering.
The aforementioned man-centered positional proclamations, divisive attitudes and performance expectations follow on with a serpent inspired, man centered, guilt ridden, TOTKOGAE controlling misrepresentation of repentance and not the understanding that puts the invitation of a freedom loving God and Father first and is, well? More Godly.
Ask yourself this question. If it’s all for the glory of God and His Christ, why would the focus of anything be about man at all? Hum?
Because of the Father’s great love, the call from the beginning was for humanity to listen for and follow on with His voice into the unity He dwells in. Absolutely nothing has changed in that regard. It is still an open invitation. But that call was and still is for His glory. A testament to the fallen ones that even the dust of the ground can be led to understand The Lord God, He is One! He has dropped this melodic phrase into my spirit that harmonizes with His purpose, “For the love of unity, He breathed into the ground”.
He authored freedom at creation and in that freedom He allowed for mankind to brake from His unity and follow another voice, true freedom. He warned of it’s death, but allowed for the consumption of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, TOTKOGAE, true freedom. But, for the failure to listen and follow in freedom, we became bound and captive to the consumption and residue of that fruit, the lie that we can self-righteously arbitrate good and evil for ourselves and others, God included. However, it is not now nor has it ever been in the capacity of man to do so, that’s the deceiver at work shifting the center of attention from the Father and His Christ, to us. We are like Him, in His image, in His design for us to hear His voice in freedom and come with, after or behind Him, pondering, considering, heeding to the destination of understanding. Repentance.
Righteousness is in the Voice and we must become like children to hear and understand the tone and tenor, so we can walk in it. And because of the great mercy of God, who knew our souls would become captive to death in the consumption of that fruit of TOTKOGAE, Jesus was sent and slain from the foundations of the world,
To proclaim freedom to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to set the oppressed free, in the year of the Lord’s favor.” Luke 4:18
Con dolce amore y appassionato, prima voce. With sweet love and passion for the First voice, the unsought offering of Jesus on earth was announced in freedom right from the start of His service to the captives. His voice to hear and follow just as He listened for and followed His Father in the easy yoke of repentance. This is exactly the same thing that was authored in the garden at creation. The voice of the Father speaking the truth, with a passionate desire for us to follow with, after and behind Him. In His imparted understanding of the need for His intercession to be met in repentance, Hebrews 13:8 has finally become crystal clear, Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today and forever more.
So why does the dust of the ground that God breathed life into seek to portray God as vengeful or needing to see some display of remorse and guilt in His creation before He’ll move? Exemplified in the “bookslinger”?
Why does this breathing dust impress on other men the need for some display of loathing and feeling bad about oneself as a sign of initiation to a move of Christ in them?
Why does arrogant condescension pervade circles of belief that somehow we even need to ask Him to forgive us? Or to offer up some “sinners prayer” to start the process? None of the disciples did that? Paul didn’t do that. We are, as they knew, already forgiven before we could even think to ask. Eph. 3:20 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. Matt 6:8 Walk in the leading of His voice and be thankful!
The sign of our relationship to Him, the fruit of the treasure of our heart is forgiving as we have been forgiven, offering freedom from judgement as we are no longer judged. Bearing fruit in what has been freely supplied. But the serpent inspired consumption of TOTKOGAE certainly keeps man from hearing this beautiful melody, even in the front row of His performance of sovereign improvisational mercy offered freely, before we even thought to ask.
He has put this writer on a mission to reiterate, to tell ‘em what I told you. To expose the necessary breakdown of denotations and connotations of repentance and the spark of His intercession that proceeds it. Because He brought these words to me and ripped them apart in my presence, He is leading me to hit hard in this second verse our need to listen for the voice of truth, His favor, His continual draw not having any account for our sin!! I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.” Luke 5:32,
He has entertained our case from the beginning, we have been weighed on the scales and been found wanting. But that’s how we were formed, in His image with a deep seeded need for a voice to follow. That’s why His intercession, the living word, the Spirit of Truth took up our case unsought from the beginning. He gave to us freely and continues to give us His voice unsought to be our First Love. What He Is Doing Right Now is taking no account of the fact that we might be in vile rebellion to Him in our condemnation, unforgivenness, or self righteous judgement of others, Himself included.
Either God the Father is all in for us to enjoin with Him and the Son through the Spirit not counting our sin against us or this is all just a big waste of time in a self-aggrandizing performance of TOTKOGAE just to appease the sensibilities and expectations of men. It is so sad to watch the dust of the ground, with borrowed breath, contrive position and feign godliness. Barring the door with dry and crusty custom obstructing those who need the life giving freedom in the living water of Christ.
Let’s get real, without His persistent draw and revelation in the Spirit, His intercession, the living water that cleanses our hearts, we could not find God if He was standing right in front of us, just like the Pharisees missed Him, though they were told the kingdom of heaven is within them. His are the alluring words of invitation, born of God through His intercession by His Spirit. He is seeking the beautiful liberating action of engagement as He reaches to us first, calling us to follow. But the arrogant and self righteous and those who love the world can not follow.
Repentance is the response to the open invitation to His voice being followed into life without guilt or condemnation. The TOTKOGAE keeps us from embracing that truth freely, because we are guilty of sin as we seek to live by the law of that fruit. Ponder Stop!
In repentance we receive the daily manna of His intercession, the bread of life, the merciful living word of God given freely, without consideration for who or where we are, what we are doing or have done. This is the exposure and nurture of the deep and intimate mystery of His bond to us in Christ, forever calling, petitioning and drawing us to the healing waters in the love of His voice.
So now when I hear someone who begins to sing, trying to harmonize with words that express that repentance carries the need to feel guilty or badly about oneself, the Holy Spirit says, TOTKOGAE!. Their attempted harmony, opposed to the melody of Christ, is the difference between the two tress in the garden. One of LIFE, the other of LAW and DEATH Gal. 5. And in eating of that other tree, oh?, does the trespass increase!! Romans 5:20
The melody of God in Christ is a song for children, a simple structure, with a deep invitation of grace and mercy for ALL to seek harmony with that voice without guilt or shame, for His glory. But the serpent inspired consumption of TOTKOGAE steals God’s simple melody and universal words of invitation, taking it beyond ”the yoke that is easy” for all to enjoin. Turning His simple words and melody into a complex structure of stacked chords and poly rhythms. And while to my ears jazz is pretty cool, not everybody can understand it and like me they certainly can’t play along either.
Jesus loves the little children
All the children of the world
Red & yellow, black & white
They’re precious in his sight
Jesus loves the little children of the world.
Simple. But the coopted melody and corrupted words of God would make us believe that though it may be true that Jesus loves all those little children, as soon as we get older we better start feeling badly and show some remorse about our nasty sin or we can forget about currying God’s favor.
To state it plainly these attitudes and misunderstandings of His intercession and the repentance it births become a controlling principle due to our recurrent consumption of TOTKOGAE rather than the tree of life! This is why the current dictionary and cultural definition of repentance is man centered and wrong. Repentance does not mean what we have been told it means. The standing definitions are not the words of Christ! I guess that’s why second verses are important because the need to tell ‘em again reinforces the chorus. It’s the unmerited favor, mercy and compassion of the composer to freely offer the unity in the melody of His heart without reservation for the state of the dust that He has breathed life into. I live off of His intercession in repentance.
I stop and think, I ponder the nature of the dipole God I was taught based on TOTKOGAE, then He leads me to consider His TRUE intercession, a joy made complete in that one sinner that repents because He isn’t counting our sins against us. Boy?, that was easy.
So when this writer doesn’t start off the second verse with the current definition of repentance: our need to feel or express sincere regret or remorse about wrongdoing or sin; to view or think of an action or omission with deep regret or remorse or to heartily amend with abhorrence one’s past sin. But instead contends, when Jesus was saying, “Repent for the kingdom of God is at hand”, He was saying: This is the voice of my intercession for you, delivered freely and unsought, without consideration for where you are or what you are doing. Hear my voice of truth and come with, after and behind me, considering, pondering and seeking to understand in your soul, what I am saying. In doing so you will be made clean, My Word will be in you and you will be in me and I will lead you to the Kingdom of My Father.
Our lyric writing class pounded on the understanding of everything in the verses pointing to the chorus. So much so that when we analyzed a lyric structure and it didn’t have verses that pointed to and drew us into the chorus the infused left-field deviation was mic-named, “Fred From Chicago”. The analogy being if the writer is saying something like this:
My intercession is ever present,
My voice is ever speaking, forgivenness, not counting your sins against you.
Drawing you to repentance.
To consider and ponder Me First.
With heart felt love and adoration for My unity, I’m calling
To hearts who are willing to follow. Come!
Show regret, have remorse for your sin.
Heartily amend with abhorrence your omission and failure.
View or think of your past sin with deep regret or remorse.
Feel badly about yourself because… I love you and you are forgiven.
Yeah, that’s Fred. Can you see it?
Honor God by feeling bad about yourself!
Yeah, that’s Fred.
Loath yourself because mercy and grace has been freely extended.
Yeah that’s Fred too.
This is the twisted fruit of TOTKOGAE that “other tree” you will certainly die in the day you eat from it. It’s fruit prompts man to place himself right before God attempting righteous judgement or the attribution of what a conformed heart should look like. Something man has no capacity to hold and subsequently misses God and deceives others in seeking to wield that understanding. Scattering!
Under the current man centered definition of intercession and repentance, right here, the song breaks down for the listener. Not because the writer has broken form and is being inconsistent in seeking to tell you what he has been told, but because the prior programing of the listener, and it is the programing of this world born of the wrong tree, has restricted the ability to hear the root chord and melodic beauty of the word repentance that is initiated through His intercession. It’s like those lines in songs that we’re certain say one thing and we sing them for years with all our hearts, but then one day we discover that we were singing the wrong words the whole time?? That is exactly what repentance and His preceding intercession suffer under today, serpent inspired programing and man centered misunderstanding, not perceiving the life generated in the words and His passionate desire for us to follow in His unity.
So it is clear, programing and not true inspired understanding of the Spirit’s leading has perverted the melody and words of God through rhythmically challenged, tone deaf individuals who have inserted discordant dynamics and definitions of mood and meter that are inconsistent with all glory in the melody belonging to God. 2 Cor 7:10 For the sorrow that is according to the will of God produces a repentance without regret, leading to salvation, but the sorrow of the world produces death. The flow of the living water of Christ and the washing in the water of His words, not counting mens’ sins against them is the mysterious and glorious call to humanity. This is His intercession being met in repentance and is life!
If I have been apprised, informed or enlightened to the understanding that I live off of His intercession in repentance, and I have taken that to heart, you would have to assume, feedings are coming on a regular basis and that would be a correct assumption. This has been going on for 24 months and if there was nothing to it, I would have spiritually starved by now and moved on to something else, asking another man, Where is God”?, “How can I be touched by Him?” But as it is, I have truly lived off of His intercession in repentance and in that He’s given me an abundance, touched me with an overflow and bounty. Not only am I not hungry or thirsty for nearly anything but His voice, He has supplied me with enough for everyone in the whole world because that is the abundance of the nourishment in the living waters of His word! It’s here, it’s free, ”the yoke that is easy”, the keys to the kingdom and empowerment to take up our cross and follow. Will you stop and listen?
The word of His intercession is sown like seed into the soil. For some the word is sown into the heart, but the serpent comes and steals it just like in the garden with Adam. Some spring up quickly in rocky places, but there isn’t a root in themselves, because as Jesus said, apart from me, the root of David, you can do nothing, so they can’t withstand affliction and persecution because of this word sown. Others hear the word, but it is sown amidst thorns, the cares of this world, the deceit of riches and the desire for other things that choke it out. All three are man centered TOTKOGAE rationalizations for not following the living word in repentance and result in death. Still others hear the word and bear much fruit. It’s for him who has an ear to hear.
To conclude this second verse I reiterate the chorus. I live off of His intercession in repentance, every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. Are you listening for and seeking to follow as Jesus did, just what the Father taught him. He said, The words that I say to you I do not speak on My own initiative, but the Father abiding in Me does His works. John 14:10 Everything about God and our understanding of Him is born of His intercession leading first. The First Voice, Prima Voce. He speaks so we can follow. Without Him speaking we are lifeless, inert and would never be able to find Him, even “knowing” what the scriptures say. Satan knows the scriptures, but He refuses to follow with after and behind the living Word of God that animates the scripture and breathes life into the words. He rejects repentance.
The Spirit has made me a watchman, searching for souls who express anticipatory expectation for His voice with a childlike hunger and an ear to hear? I now search for the words of the tree of life and bear as a cross in forbearance with the fruit of that “other tree”. I pan the horizon of this dark age we live in listening for the unity of what He is saying and doing right now?
Maybe all this is all old hat to you, but if it isn’t why don’t you ask Him to reveal the true words of the song right here, because I can almost guarantee you’ve been singing the wrong words, with all your heart for years, just as I did before I was hit with His question, “What Am I Doing Right Now?”. I would implore you to seek, ask and knock for the understanding, because He longs for the true melody of His heart to become our treasure. He longs for the harmony of humankind to be in agreement with His drawing intercession. For His symphony to develop in our hearts with the words and melody He offers and desires us to sing together. For the love of His unity.
Has this second verse assisted in seeking out the key signature to the voice of His intercession and the repentance that is to follow? Have I been faithful to tell you what He has told me? Does this help in the understanding that, I live off of His intercession in repentance… I hope so, because, believe it or not, in the end you will find it was true for you as well. For Him who has an ear to hear, let Him hear what the Spirit is saying.
