Exactly How Much Of This Existence, Labeled As Life, Is An Outright Lie?

“Exactly how much of this existence, labeled as life, is an outright lie?”

This is a question the Holy Spirit posed to me while I was writing The Bridge, the 10th and final piece of a two year chronicle I was led to designate as, “The Journey“.

My first reaction was, Whooooaa!  Like, this is a big one isn’t it?  I realized in that moment that like the prior question, “What am I doing right now?”, this one was going to have some legs.  Like the former, this question aroused the same impetus in me to seek Him and ask for His understanding because the answer wasn’t going to be culled directly from a book or found through the reasoning of mankind.  Like before, I didn’t have the answer to the question and it brought Him great joy to initiate another query, because in doing so, He re-ignited a repentant heart, His spark to seek and follow with after and behind His voice into His understanding.  And like all things pertaining to God’s kingdom, it is His desire to expose and bring revelation of the truth, so that glory will be brought to His name, through the breathing dust He formed.

True understanding arriving in the heart of humanity requires God’s instigation and revelation of the truth, we do not arrive at it ourselves and never have, believer or not.  No one seeks God, no one is smart enough to figure God out, not even with THE Book in our hand.  It is all a gift of God, through the power of the Holy Spirit.  Now the Spirit is Lord; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 2 Cor. 3:17

His question and the leading of His voice drew me to the exposure and exploration of an antithesis.  As if He were saying, look here son, if you will follow me in this I will show you that most of what passes for life in the groupings people have segregated themselves into is not My life at all.  What I will show you is merely existence without My life, a religious pretension and feigned understanding that denies My Spirit in a spirit of superiority through knowledge believed to be gained.

His implication was that there is a BIG lie that resonates in the circles of belief today and it centers around the first lie authored in the garden at creation.  “God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God in knowing good and evil,” said the serpent.  The truth is, we will never be like God because we think we know anything, much less good and evil.

Eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, the TOTKOGAE (tät-kō-gā), mankind became and is still bound in the sin of the serpent, believing godhood is attainable in our acquisition of the knowledge of good and evil or knowledge about God.  On the surface, many in the believing community would shudder at that statement because that sounds like works, right?  Yet, the very same will sit for hour after hour, after week after year, slurping down head knowledge as sufficiency for a relationship to God and forsake giving up everything else to sit in silence waiting for the leading of His Spirit, the voice of truth.  The relationship that He not only desires, but requires.

The outright lie He is pointing to began in the garden where the leading in the Father’s voice was forsaken, following another voice that inferred we could gain something apart from His word He had already spoken to us.  This is certainly a Ponder Stop.  Stated again, The outright lie began in the garden where the leading of the Father’s voice was forsaken, following another voice that inferred we could gain something apart from His word He had already spoken to us.  Jesus confirms in John 15:5 that, “Apart from me you can do nothing.”  The fruit of death that was consumed then is still served and consumed today and it fosters a heart that offers lip service to God in what we think we know about Him and does not produce fruit that is in keeping with repentance. Matt/Luke 3:8

You brood of vipers, who warned you to flee the wrath to come? Luke 3:7

If we find ourselves with understanding in our hearts as Peter did one day in Matt 16:17, it is because we were drawn by the Father and followed His voice into His revelation.  It’s exactly what was offered by God in the garden at creation as life.  The Father speaks the word of revelation for the awakening of the souls of humanity, IT is the rock that He will build His church on that the gates of hell shall not prevail against. Matt. 16:18  Whoever has ears, let him hear.  Matt 11:15; 13:9

Is it any wonder today, that the man-centered TOTKOGAE (tät-kō-gā) existence is bringing the death God said would manifest?  “Fellowships” built on the doctrines of men and their knowledge of good and evil that scatter the souls He is trying to gather; destroying and marginalizing the Holy Spirit’s position as the initiator of understanding to all things God.  It is blaspheme of the Holy Spirit and a great falling away from the truth.

The glory that is due Him for this rock of revelation and all it sustains,  exposes what we think we posses in the knowledge of good and evil as the death that it is.  Revelation is shrouded by what we think we know of existence and becomes highly visible as the lie passed off as life.  It’s identifiable and verifiable through individual and corporate confessions of the mouth that speak what the heart is actually full of at any given moment, our fruit.  There is either good fruit born of a good tree or corrupt fruit born of a bad tree.  If you ask Him to show you, in patience, with deep repentance, you might come to understand that He is speaking about the Two Trees from the garden and the reputation due for their seed and roots in humanity.

Most of what is expressed and heralded as life in the circle belief is the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (the TOTKOGAE [tät-kō-gā]).  Talking about what we think we know about God is called fellowship in Christ and He’s telling me, it isn’t.  It’s the fruit of death that leads us to lean on what we think we know about God instead of listening for His voice by faith and following Him into life.  I live off of His intercession in repentance.  Everything else will be cut off and thrown into the fire.

The ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire. Matt 3:10

Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them. Matt 7:19-20

The corrupt TOTKOGAE (tät-kō-gā) fruit in man, blinds us and muffles an ear to hear the gift of the Holy Spirit.  This realm of implied credit for “enlightenment” and “understanding”, what we think we know about God, is at the root of the lie passed off as life.  His leading is to a surrendered heart and hunger for the life of God and the instance of glory due the Father for our understanding.  Something to stop and ponder for sure, because like Peter, we do not and will not ever know God through flesh and blood or anything of this carnal existence and arrive with His life in us.

The inkling and prompting of His Spirit brings questions to our souls with intent to initiate the marriage of our repentance with Them in the kingdom of God.  The Father longs for everyone to discover the treasure in the field of their heart, the love of His voice and what is being said.  This was the love of the Father in Christ, as it was the love of the Father in the garden for Adam.  Together Father, Son and Spirit they bid us come, to enter into the image of God we were created in.  Formed with the ability to hear and follow (repentance), so as to dwell in Their unity and ultimately receive healing and rescue.  A dwelling made whole in Them and kept safe and sound by His living word heard and followed.

As it was with Jesus, the Holy Spirit continues to bring us the appeal of the Father to ponder and search Him out with deep consideration for His intercession, His living Word being spoken to the hearts of humanity.  This Word being met in repentance is life; it is the way, the truth and the life.  It is the example Jesus set and the very unity He shared with the Father while He walked the earth, living off of every Word that proceeded from the mouth of God and doing exactly what His Father said. John 14:31  This is what Jesus modeled for us as the way, the truth and the life and is where our life is now hidden in Christ. Col. 3:3  Listening for the word He is interceding with right now and following.

Here’s a condensed flash of His light to expose the lie.  Everything but the voice of the living God being followed as Christ did, is born of the fruit of that “other” tree, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, the TOTKOGAE (tät-kō-gā) and it still brings death in the day we eat of it.

Just about everywhere Jesus walked He encountered people that regularly consumed it’s fruit and spewed it’s death on Him. They wanted Him to consume it with them and cajoled and manipulated the crowd with it’s corruption, just like the serpent did in the garden.  They bore it’s fruit; what they thought they knew, what they had been told, what they had been taught or read.  Their existence was the myopic earthbound category of “knowledge about God”, not the life that is in God, the very word He was speaking to them.  Jesus regularly pointed this out to these “death eaters”.

There is a deep and detached distinction between what we think we know about God and the Life that is in God.  It is this “knowledge about God” that is at the root of His question to me, “Exactly how much of this existence, labeled as life, is an outright lie?”  Whereby, knowledge “about” God in this modern age has been substituted as sufficiency or equality to the life offered “in” God.

His question, for any and all who can hear it, is a warning sign, on a wide road of deception and self-destruction; not an offering for a jewel in our crowns for the correct answer.  He seeks to reveal and expose His life to all and He is willing to assault our sensibilities to do so.  To show us the lie that has been believed to be life as the death that it truly is.

To offer some aide to understanding I have been led to apply some logic to His question.  It seemed fitting to place the question into some mathematical expressions to give some perspective for their terms.  “Exactly how much of this existence, labeled as life, is an outright lie?”; where (A) is existence; (B) is the lie, knowledge about God; and (C) is Life.  These are some of the equations I was led to create:

  • C (life) A (existence) + B (the lie, knowledge about God)
  • C (life) A (existence) B (the lie, knowledge about God)
  • C (life) > A (existence)
  • A (existence) C (life)

As those digest let’s look at a couple more logical perspectives embedded in the question that lend themselves to these equations as well.

  • B (the lie, knowledge about God) = A (existence) C (life)
  • B (the lie, knowledge about God)  C (life)

Neither A or B = C

The lie breeds a form of godliness in knowledge about God, yet denies His power.  The living Word being spoken right now, given freely by the Spirit to all without consideration for the state of the vessel.  The lie breeds contempt, a self-satisfaction in the heart of humanity because we think we have gained something in our knowledge about God that others just don’t seem to possess.  As if that’s what really matters.  The same will breed C.U.J.(k-oŏ-əj) in God’s Gap, the Condemnation, Unforgiveness and Judgement (C.U.J.) of others for their perceived lack.

This C.U.J.(k-oŏ-əj) is born of iniquity and is the inhibitor and obstruction to the living waters of His intercession; that numbs our hearts and an ear to hear the voice of the Spirit who is seeking to gather us all in Christ.

Knowledge “about” God is not the Life that is “in” God and leaves us with mere existence, but thinking we have all the goods.  It’s just the pride of life and does not come from the Father. Gen. 3:6; 1 John 2:15-17

C > A as it is written, He is upholding ALL things by the Word of His power. Heb. 1:3  Opening even a blind eye it is obvious that existence can’t be without His Word of Life and if that understanding has truly been received in our heart, it should cause us to stop and ponder the depths of what He is really saying here in asking this question.  “Exactly how much of this existence, labeled as life, is an outright lie?”

C Life stands on it’s own.  It does not need our awareness or approval and is freely offered without reservation for the condition of the vessel.  For God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself not counting men’s sins against them. 2 Cor. 5:19  The Life of God does not need natural existence or our knowledge about it to flourish and bloom.  Knowledge about God, knowledge of good and evil does not supply humans with God, much less the life found in Him alone.  Life is in His voice speaking.  It is His living word Heb. 4:12.  The voice of His intercession offered unsought to all, before one could even think to ask. Eph. 3:20  Are you listening, as if to follow what is being said?  Today, if you would only hear His voice, do not harden your hearts. Ps. 95:7

The kingdom of God does not come with observation: nor will people say, ‘Here it is’ or ‘there it is’ for the kingdom of God is within you. Luke 17:21

How could Jesus say this to Pharisees’ whom we all assume, were not saved?

Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?  They answered No, we have not even heard there is a Holy Spirit. Acts 19:2

How could believers in Christ not know anything of the Holy Spirit who revealed Christ to them?  He’s the Spirit of Truth who was sent to guide us into all truth, into all things God and His Christ, how could they not have received Him?  Well Peter, will The Ponder Stops ever cease?  I hope not!!

But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on His own; He will speak only what He hears, and He will tell you what is to come. John 16:13

But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, will teach you all things and remind you of everything I have said to you. John 14:26

Is a glimmer of understanding arising here..?  The Holy Spirit imparts all truth sans His own recognition, before one could think to ask.  The Holy Spirit does the work of the Father regardless of the vessels’ knowledge or acknowledgment of Him just like with Peter in Matt 16:17 and the disciples of Ephesus in Acts 19.

Vessels beware!

Evil vessels, give glory to God for the good that is within you!

You brood of vipers, how can you, being evil, speak what is good?  For the mouth speaks out of that which fills the heart. Matt 12:34

If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give you the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?” Luke 11:13

“I praise You, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and the intelligent and revealed them to infants. Luke 10:21

The life of God reigns. The voice of the Lord is over the waters; the God of glory thunders. PS 29:3  Being created in His image is the kingdom of God  within us.  It is God’s Gap in the heart and He seeks out a vessel to pour through and will do so without the vessel ever giving credence, acknowledgment or glory to the giver.  Pay attention!  Any good that can come from anyone and everyone who is evil is the gift of life in God freely offered without regard to sin, for His glory!

The conclusion He has led me to in light of His question is this.  The Holy Spirit is solely responsible for bringing everything God to humanity and will do so without humanity’s comprehension of what is being brought or how it is even happening.  The intercession of the Spirit is dispatched as one who meets up with one and presents Himself unsought, sometimes with groanings too deep for words.  We can all catch glimpses of the truth, but ALL of that truth is derived and initiated through Him to draw us and bring glory to the Father.

Along the path to this understanding I wondered to Him.  “Is the breathing dust You formed confounded or ashamed to see it’s nakedness in the knowledge of good and evil they have consumed? Gen. 3:7

You brood of vipers, how can you, being evil, speak what is good? For the mouth speaks out of that which fills the heart. Matt 12:34

Because He is not a respecter of persons, He will give to those who do not even have a heart for Him.  Jesus does not condemn them, but in the end the very word He spoke will judge all things John 12:28 and for every empty word uttered an account will be given. Matt. 12:36  By your words you will be acquitted and by your words you will be condemned. Matt. 12:37  Then watch out that the light in you is not darkness. Luke 11:35

Vessels beware!

Evil vessels, give glory to God for the good that is within you!

You foolish ones, did not He who made the outside make the inside also? But give that which is within as charity and then all things are clean. Luke 11:40-41  Again, God does not show favoritism and is not a respecter of persons. Acts 10:34  If you being evil know how to give good gifts what could possibly be that good in you?  How does good arrive in us?  Worship is what?  Glorifying God is what?

He has led me to ponder His leading, to consider His purpose and heed His exposure of these things because His desire is for all to be set free from our carnal bondage to the knowledge of good and evil that we imbibe, hold as a treasure and force upon others as godliness.  There is no life in the tree of the knowledge of good or evil.  Just as the Father said in the garden, we will die in the day we eat from the TOTKOGAE (tät-kō-gā).  There is no life of God in knowledge.  Knowledge will pass away. 1 Cor. 13:8  But His words will never pass away. Luke 21:33

Our biggest issue is a deceitful heart that seeks to rest in our perception or possession of knowledge gained.  The very lie of the garden.  Knowledge about God, instead of receiving a heart of wisdom that freely acknowledges that any good coming from us can only be the life received from God in the first place.  For the believer or unbeliever, the saved or the unsaved only the Father who is in heaven is good, and provides good gifts to all.  Rain on the righteous and unrighteous. Matt. 5:45

His desire is for me to linger here, to dwell in this place of repentance.  A state of wonder and hopeful optimism of a God who’s voice is life and bids us all come.  A deep consideration of Him who is willing to give the word of life to any and all.  For whoever has, to him more shall be given; and  whoever does not have, even what he has shall be taken from him. Mark 4:25  Have you been granted the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven? Matt. 13:11

Through “The Journey”, I have gone on for days, weeks and months in enthusiastic praise of His virtuous revelation, initiated by a question, “What Am I Doing Right Now?”  Intrigue for the deep mystery of His bond to us began there and it has continued on here, in the deliberation on this new question. “Exactly how much of this existence, labeled as life, is an outright lie?”  These next two excerpts are from The Bridge where this new question was spawned:

: In following the voices of men led by their knowledge of good and evil (the TOTKOGAE [tät-kō-gā]), the father of lies deceives us into believing that following God is about what we know… And it’s not!  Following that logic Jesus should have picked Pharisees and Sadducees instead of tax collectors and fishermen. This lie, is the BIG umbrella and is the most insidious and common in the circles of belief.

: If you are not listening for the voice of God, you can not be following God no matter what you say you believe.

The truth is, in the day Jesus walked the earth, neither the tax collector or fishermen, nor the traitor or Pharisee knew God.  But Jesus revealed the Father through Himself in the word He spoke, just like He does today by His Spirit.  He does this because, no one understands; there is no one who seeks God. Rom. 3  Whether Pharisee or Apostle, at any given moment across His service to mankind, Jesus encountered those who had ears to hear and those who did not.  You can chalk up their disparate dispositions and hunger to be obtained by God through His living word to the ingestion of the TOTKOGAE (tät-kō-gā), the erroneous knowledge of good and evil they believed they possessed.  When His word had no room in their hearts it was when they were already full of what they thought they knew about God, their knowledge of good and evil and it’s TOTKOGAE (tät-kō-gā) fruit of death, C.U.J.(k-oŏ-əj) barring the door to God’s Gap.  Jesus said, Why do you not understand what I am saying?  It is because you cannot hear my word. John 8:43

Life is in the voice of God, the living waters of the word being spoken right now.  It is through this living word and it’s power that He upholds all things.  One does not need to have knowledge of or even give their consent for it to be operating right under their nose or in their heart.  But woe to those who receive and do not give glory to whom it is due.  For whoever has, to him more shall be given; and whoever does not have, even what he has shall be taken from him. Mark 4:25

As I have sat in repentance waiting for His leading voice and the  understanding He always brings to His questions.  What He has delivered cuts across the common conception, the accepted and practiced understanding that governs the modern persuasion of belief.  The lie, the deception of sufficiency is in the knowledge about God, the knowledge of good and evil we believe we posses.  This is the shroud, the BIG umbrella that inhibits being soaked in the water of life God is seeking to pour out on all flesh Joel 2:28, the Word He wants us to follow into life with Him.

The application of this cut across common conception, is in these 6 statements.  They are designed to offend and assault the sensibilities of those who live by and give reverence to the TOTKOGAE (tät-kō-gā).  To bring the cutting sword of division between the TOTKOGAE and the tree of life as they were created in the garden.  To expose the lie of the serpent and those who follow him with the promotion of duality in the pursuit of the knowledge of good and evil as godliness forsaking the relationship the Father created from the beginning that is Unity in His word of truth being followed.

  • The lie, our knowledge about God Entrance into the presence of God.
  • The lie, our knowledge about God Our worship of God.
  • The lie, our knowledge about God Our fellowship in Christ.
  • The lie, our knowledge about God His pure access to us, repentance.
  • The lie, our knowledge about God Being His.
  • The lie, our knowledge about God Salvation.

If I have heard correctly, He has just blown a gapping hole in the ship of perspective common to the circle of belief.  These six if understood for what they are, lay bear the need to be, born again.  To “ponder anew” His living and active word and His purpose in it, juxtaposed the puffed up sea of knowledge, navigated by serpent inspired individuals, whose rudder is good and evil and not the tree of life.  If ever there was a Ponder Stop, this is one.

In the moment the face of Jesus shown like the sun and His garments became white as light, Moses and Elijah appeared, talking with Him.  Peter said, “Lord, it is good for us to be here; if You wish, I will build three tents here, one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah”.  But while he was still speaking, a bright cloud overshadowed them and a voice from the cloud said, This is My beloved Son with whom I am well-pleased; listen to Him! Matt. 17:2-5

If you notice, the voice of the Father interrupted Peter in what he thought was good and the action he wanted to take on this perceived knowledge. Instead, the voice of God thundered and heralded the need to listen to His Son.  Not only has He warned us not to eat the fruit of the TOTKOGAE (tät-kō-gā), but proves here that He is flatly disinterested, even to the point of stepping on it’s fruit in us.  He requires and promotes an ear to hear what the Spirit is saying.  The Word of Life is not interested in what we think we know about Him or even what we think is good or evil, these are the branches He says are only fit for the fire.  The same fire He had wished was already kindled when He began His service to humanity.  “I have come to bring fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled!  Luke 12:49

Why do you call me good? Jesus answered. No one is good except God alone.” Luke 18:19

Having revealed His glory on that mountain, the Father said we need to listen to His Son.  He has never changed.  From the beginning He has spoken with the desire for us to listen for His voice and follow.  This is the tree of Life we were created free to consume, the bread of Life restored to us that is Christ, the abiding that is offered in eating His flesh and drinking His blood.  The image of God we were created in is ever present in us; within and waiting for the living word He speaks to animate us toward Him.  Beyond any consideration or need to even acknowledge good or evil, His word is alive and is Life!

His question, “Exactly how much of this existence, labeled as life, is an outright lie?” was generated for the advocacy of listening for His voice and His voice only.  The serpents deception started with an offer to be like God in knowing good and evil.  Both the knowledge and it’s promise of the likeness of God were lies, that were promoted over the life in His word that had already been spoken before Adam even thought to think or ask.  Knowledge about God or good or evil is not the life found in God, nor does it make us like God.  Understanding comes in hearing His word and His revelation of what is being said and doing that.  All glory to God!  This is life!

…Receive the love of the truth so as to be saved.  …saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through the belief in the truth.

  1. The Life is in the Son (The Word of God) and found no where, or in anyone else, or our knowledge. I like how you bring out that all “knowledge” is to us death, and eating of the tree TOTKOGAE (tät-kō-gā). May we live in His Word of intercession, via faith and repentance.
We love Him because He first loved us!
